Our Community, Our Healthbox

Our Community, Our Healthbox

Our Healthbox is located at the WE Cormack complex, on Carolina Avenue, adjacent to the Kindale Public Library, and across the street from the cenotaph in Stephenville.

A new and innovative wellness resource is available in Newfoundland and Labrador. The People of the Dawn Indigenous Friendship Centre (PDIFC) will now be host to a Healthbox, providing community members with free access to essential items that support their health, safety, and well-being with dignity.

Stocked with harm-reduction supplies, feminine hygiene products, emergency food, and other vital wellness items, the Healthbox represents a meaningful step toward reducing barriers to health in the region.

The project is made possible through strong partnerships with REACH Nexus,
St. Michael’s Unity Health Toronto, and
the MAP Centre for Urban Health Solutions, who have been instrumental in developing Healthbox initiatives across Canada.

“We’re incredibly excited to be piloting this project within our Friendship Centre and here in the Bay St. George region,” said Michelle Barry, Board President. “With the generous support of our partners, we’ve worked hard to bring this opportunity to our area. We look forward to welcoming people to make use of the Healthbox and everything it offers.”
